Greenhouse Winter Gardening
Vegetable plants can be placed into 3 to 5 gallon pots. Larger fruit trees should be placed in 30 gallon pots. Combine one half potting soil and one half organic compost and fill the pots three-quarters high. Fresh soil supplies the much needed nutrients through the winter season. |
. |
Many plants and vegetables require 8 hours of sunlight per day. Placement in the greenhouse is critical for these plants to ensure they are receiving the maximum sunlight. Place these plants closer to the middle of the greenhouse with cold hardy plants along the greenhouses walls. |
|
Using a fan not only supplies the required air circulation, but also helps with pollination. Disable your solar vents to minimize heat losss. Check soil for watering, the warmth and humidity in the greenhouse will dictate how often plants need to be watered.
